Best Christmas cookies recipes

13.03.2023

We all enjoy delicious traditional Christmas dishes. And the highlight of a festive (and not just festive) meal is dessert. Everyone looks forward to such treats as cakes, ice cream and fruit. What sweets are perfect for Christmas? Of course, ones that we can make ourselves. We have a few suggestions.

Christmas gingerbread cookies

Gingerbread cookies are a traditional Christmas dessert. Spices and cinnamon are scents that immediately bring Christmas to mind, so be sure to bake some before Christmas Eve. How do you prepare these delicacies?
Mix half a kilo of flour with 200 grams of caster sugar, the same amount of honey, an egg, half a block of butter, a teaspoon of baking soda and two tablespoons of gingerbread spice. Roll out the dough to a maximum thickness of 5 mm and cut out gingerbread cookies in festive designs using gingerbread cutters. Bake for 10 minutes in the oven preheated to 180°C. Decorate the gingerbread cookies yourself: using icing, sprinkles, chocolate - there’s a lot to choose from. Store the cookies in an airtight container.

Crispy Christmas cookies

Crispy cookies are the perfect accompaniment to coffee and tea and a delicious snack. They are simple to make and, with their festive shapes, will look great on the table.
Mix 300 g of wheat flour with 100 g of caster sugar, a block of butter and three egg yolks. You can flavour the dough with vanilla, cocoa or cinnamon.
Let the dough rest in the freezer for 30 minutes. Afterwards, roll out to a thickness of about 5mm and use pastry cutters to cut out the cookies. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 200°C. Remove the cookies from the baking tray, decorate with icing and chocolate once cooled.

No-bake Christmas cookies

If your oven is already being used for gingerbread or other pastries in the run-up to Christmas, you can make delicious Christmas cookies without baking. Christmas coconut macaroons are a tasty and simple to make dessert that will delight your guests. The recipe could not be simpler. Mix coconut flakes with condensed milk in a 1:1 ratio, e.g. 100 g of flakes and milk. Once the ingredients are mixed together, form into balls. We suggest balls in three sizes which, when impaled on a toothpick, will form a tasty snowman. Set aside in the fridge for about 50 minutes. Pour melted white chocolate over the snowmen and decorate with coloured icing.

Christmas cookies - double the fun

Preparing Christmas cookies is not time-consuming, but provides a lot of fun, especially for children who will be happy to help you with the big bakes. A few moments together in the kitchen will bring joy to your little one, teach independence and help them forget about the TV or computer for a while. The finished cookies can be enjoyed by everyone.
